All of our children are their own unique selves, and this shows up in so many different ways. They have a sense of what they need in life, and they share this with us through their actions and behaviors. Sometimes those actions and behaviors create tension in the home, at school, and in social situations. It's up to us parents to see them where they are and guide them along their path so that they are true to themselves.
As a mother of an empath with anxiety and school avoidance issues, and as a veteran teacher working with middle and high school students in continuation and alternative education, I have learned how guidance helps our youth much more than taking a reactive stance. I hope to help you through the parenting journey with what I have learned so far.
