Padah’s Path

My name is Michaela Callahan and I am a graduate of Grand Canyon University. In the Spring of 2017 I graduated with my Bachelors in Psychology. This May I completed my Graduate Certificate in Life Coaching and will then continue out the remainder of my Masters courses, with only half left to go.

Life Coaching for me began at a non-profit organization called Vadis as an employment consultant or “Job Coach”. I worked there for a year, coaching individuals with mental disabilities as they worked towards completing their goals of gaining and maintaining employment.

Aside from the academic experience I have also been through quite the number of life events. From a young age I experienced abuse which carried out into my young adult years as well. The battle of healing through this while having a Mom who drinks, a Dad who wasn’t around a lot and snowballing mental abuse issues, I turned to various drugs, eating disorders, whatever I could do self destructively to get attention and show I needed help.

I hated who I was for a really long time and blamed myself for a lot of what happened to me. What?! I BLAMED MYSELF?! Often in situations of abuse we blame ourselves and it’s not fair, we need to understand that was not us doing it to ourselves and it is ok to not be ok. Through Counseling and Life Coaching sessions of my own personal needs, I was able to heal myself and discover what path I truly wanted to be on . . . my own!

I enjoy helping others and I have always known that it is my purpose in life to help others in any way that I can. We all have the tools to design the type of life that we want and the type of life that will give us the most fulfillment, sometimes we just don’t have the ability to understand how to use those tools or we simply don’t know they’re there.

By helping you rediscover your passions you can begin to unfold the path to your own life purpose. I achieve this by helping you set and achieve realistic goals, encourage spirituality and self-discovery as well as implementation of Positive Psychology techniques. One of my favorite fortune cookies ever received said “One of the most valuable things we can do to heal one another is to listen to each other’s stories” and I feel that is exactly what we are here to accomplish, so come talk to me <3
